Every year The John C. Stalker Institute of Food and Nutrition offers a variety of dynamic programs designed to:

  • Develop knowledge, skills and experience necessary to teach nutrition and health in the classroom
  • Provide nutritious food in school cafeterias and child care feeding programs
  • Support the school cafeteria as a learning laboratory.

Programs are developed by highly qualified professionals who engage participants through hands-on, interactive learning. Offered are workshops, certificate programs and continuing education courses.

Workshops
The John C. Stalker Institute offers a variety of workshops in Culinary Training, Nutrition Education, Computer Training, and Management. Workshops are offered at Framingham State College and in communities throughout Massachusetts. In addition, school systems and school nutrition programs can contract to offer workshops for their staff.

Certificate Programs
The John C. Stalker Institute offers three certificate programs designed to encourage, excite, and provide the tools to do your job better. This advanced training is available for teachers, school food service directors, and school food service managers.

Continuing Education Courses
Undergraduate and graduate credits are offered for college-level courses. Through the Division of Graduate and Continuing Education at Framingham State College participants earn:
